Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. Her upbringing was in a home which included four brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney wanted to become a reporter for the court. In highschool the time came when she began modeling for commercials, and later after moving to New York. When she was a teenager her first appearance as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress in the 80s, has been featured in several films TV movies as well as dramas. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past as well as two failed marriages. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
